Allocation of quantity for export of preferential quota sugar to EU and US

Traders exporting white sugar to the EU or US availing the CXL and TRQ concessions, can export the same at lower or zero tariffs.

As per DGFT notification no.- 34/2015-2020 Dated 28th September, 2016, the Govt has fixed an export quota of 10,000 tonnes of white, raw or refined sugar to the EU under CXL concessions for 1 year beginning October 2016 to September 2017.

As per notification no.- 3/2015-20 dated 20.04.2015, export of raw sugar, white or refined sugar to the EU and US is for free circulation under the CXL and TRQ quotas. The recent notification details that subject to the conditions notified in the ‘Nature of Restrictions’ in the 20th March 2015 notification, 20% Export duty is applicable on export of raw sugar, white or refined sugar w.e.f. 16 June, 2016 as notified by the Dept of Revenue.

The notification also clearly specifies that the CXL concession sugar  can be exported upon the presentation of a certificate of origin issued by a competent authority of the third country concerned.  

Traders exporting white sugar to the EU or US availing the CXL and TRQ concessions, can export the same at lower or zero tariffs.
