The availability of more data in the consumer space given the amount of access to consumer activity through web, mobile & social media has increased the potential for IT Analytics and in the process for opportunities too, said an expert. Talking to The Dollar Business, Ramesh Loganathan, President, HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Exporters Association) and Centre Head, Progress Software said, “In general Indian Domestic IT tracks global trends these days. Even as they may be more cost conscious- never are they behind in their understanding of the technologies and options available.” He went on to add, “That said, metric management and performance based management is probably not new. Indian enterprises have always use data warehousing technologies. And that is nothing but metric/performance based managements. And surely most enterprises have KPUIs and dashboards that they use. Which is also the same realm. So don’t believe this is anything new. Nor is the data now any ‘bigger.’ Meanwhile, India’s apex IT industry body, NASSCOM is organising its third edition of the two-day Big Data and Analytics Summit 2015 – Data Driven disruption – The next frontier from June 25-26, 2015. The Big Data and Analytics Summit will focus on using Big Data and Analytics strategically, by incorporating it in decision-making across the enterprise. “The event will help in professional and enterprises invent more easy to use technologies and platforms that probably simplify on-demand analytics, that puts more power in the end users to define and derive their insights,” said Ramesh. Recently, research firm Gartner said that Business intelligence (BI) software revenue in India is expected to grow 15 per cent to reach $150 million this year in 2015. The spending on BI platforms -- advanced analytics, analytic applications and corporate performance management (CPM) software -- stood at $133.8 million in 2014, it added.   The BI platforms segment would continue to be the largest chunk of the Indian BI software market with revenue forecast to reach $92.7 billion in 2015, up 10.2 per cent from 2014.
