The term of the present President Anil Reddy Vennam ends on 15 June, 2016. With more than 3,300 members, the apex industry chamber of the state will organise elections for the post of Vice President and other executive posts of the industry body this month end, Anil Reddy told The Dollar Business on the side lines of the announcement of FTAPCCI Excellence Annual Awards programme for the year 2014-15 in Hyderabad on Friday.

The FTAPCCI is inviting nominations for the industry excellence awards in 21 categories that include industrial productivity, agro based industry, marketing initiatives, export performance, new & renewable energy, corporate social responsibility, product innovation, research & development, information technology, tourism promotion, engineering and women empowerment.

“This year, we wanted to award the media professionals but it couldn’t happen this time. We wish to invite entries from media industry next year onwards. For this, we need to do some ground work. We need to include few big wigs of print and electronic media in our board to set the parameters and judge their capabilities,” Anil Reddy said.

He further said that the awards programme has created a lot of positive buzz among the industry to achieve excellence in their respective fields every year. This recognition is not only meant for the corporate sectors but also for other individual contestants. These awards would be presented to meritorious persons and firms based on their contribution to respective aspects of trade and industry.

V S Raju, Chairman of FTAPCCI Excellence Awards Committee said, “This awards programme will recognise corporate companies, institutions, entrepreneurs and other individuals for their outstanding performance in significant areas. It will encourage corporate and individual initiatives in the areas of economic, social and educational importance. Each award has a different theme. It consists of a trophy, plaque and a citation.”
