GMR Intl Airport to develop and operate Greenfield International airport at Goa

Phase 1 of the model based on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer is likely to cost Rs.3100 crores.

The GMR Goa International Airport Limited, an SPV formed by the GMR Airports Limited has won a project to develop and operate a Greenfield International Airport at Mopa, in North Goa.

A signed Concession Agreement with the Government of Goa for development and operation of the same was arrived at on 8th November 2016.

The project was won by GMR Airports Limited through international competitive bidding process with highest revenue share of 36.99%.

The model based on the public-private-partnership is based on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.

The project will operate in a hybrid mode till model with 30% cross subsidy, and will be implemented in four phases.

The total estimated cost of Phase I of the project is Rs.3,100 crores.
