India’s crude oil production falls 4.09% in September

Sept prodn of crude oil remained 2.82% lower than the monthly target for the month.

India’s crude oil production fell 4.09% to 2917.43 TMT in September 2016 compared to September 2015.

The September production of crude oil also remained 2.82% lower than the monthly target for the month.

Cumulative crude oil production during April-September 2016, too, registered a decline as it fell by 3.30% to 18063.64 TMT over the corresponding period of last year.

The domestic production of natural gas fell by as much as 5.45% to 2600.10 MMSCM in September over the corresponding month of last year.

Cumulative natural gas production declined by 4.41% to 15723.54 MMSCM during April-September 2016 over the corresponding period of last year.

Notwithstanding the negative growth in India’s  crude oil production and natural gas production, PSU refineries’ production grew by as much as 10.62% to 10767.22 TMT in September 2016 over the corresponding month of last year.

Cumulative production of PSU refineries during April-September 2016 was 67366.62 TMT, which was 11.03% higher than the production during April-September 2016.

Natural gas production by ONGC during September 2016 was 1841.92 MMSCM which is 0.72% higher than the monthly target and 1.46% higher when compared with September 2015.
