Indias engineering exports to France Shipments of the automobile segments cloaked the maximum growth, up 62.34% to $8.59 million in October 2015 from $5.29 million in October 2014.

India’s engineering exports to France grew by 30.27% in October even though the sector’s overall shipments fell by 11.62% during the same period, an EEPC study has said. Last month, India’s engineering exports to France went up to $91.54 million from $70.27 a year ago. Despite a negative trend in India’s exports of engineering goods during September, August and July, shipments to France remained positive at about 6% to $622.24 million during April-October 2014-15 from last year’s $587.34 million. “Data from France for October was very positive. However, with the unfortunate and condemnable terror attacks, we are keeping our fingers crossed hoping the business sentiment there is not affected in November and subsequent months,” EEPC said in a statement. Shipments to the European Union also grew by 8.83% and reached $873.25 million in October this year from $802.42 million in October 2014. However, shipments to the EU during the period April-October declined by 3.89%. “The disaggregate data pointed towards a handsome growth in the industrial machinery by 46% from $11.27 million to $16.45 million,” EEPC said. Shipments of the automobile segments cloaked the maximum growth, up 62.34% to $8.59 million in October 2015 from $5.29 million in October 2014. Exports of electronic machinery and components to France registered a growth of 19.70% to $18.38 million from $15.35 million during the month. “What was more encouraging was the fact that the turnaround in the exports to France came riding on the back of value added products like automobiles, aircraft parts, electrical machinery and components and industrial machinery,” said T S Bhasin, Chairman, EEPC.
