‘Make in Odisha’ conclave to host Arun Jaitley, key industry leaders

The “Make in Odisha” conclave is grabbing a lot of eyeballs with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, industrialists Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and Adani Group chief Gautam Adani as key participants of the event scheduled for November 30.

Other important people that will be a part of the event include SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya, Larsen & Toubro Chairman A M Naik, ITC COO Sanjiv Puri, JSW Group CMD Sajjan Jindal and Hindustan Coca-Cola CEO T Krishankumar.

The event has been organised with a view to making Odisha a manufacturing hub of the East and the most preferred investment destination in India. To take the vision forward, the state has already come up with eight policies to attract investors and has been identified as one of the three states to host “Make in India” shows in the country.

According to Odisha Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, the conclave will give the state an opportunity to showcase their manufacturing eco-system that will highlight the investment potential existing in various segments. This is expected to transform into investments from key companies that will be attending the three-day event.

The conclave will be segmented into eight sectoral sessions covering the state's identified focus sectors including smart city, chemicals, petrochemicals and plastics, tourism, textiles & apparel, food processing, skill development, electronics manufacturing & IT and defence manufacturing.

The event will also host INNOVEX, the flagship event of Young Indians which is the youth wing of CII. It will emphasize on disrupting innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth of the nation.

The other significant people who have confirmed their participation for the event include Shahi Exports MD Harish Ahuja, Videocon Ltd Chairman Venugopal Dhoot, SanDisk co-founder and President Sanjay Mehrotra.

The “Make in Odisha” conclave is being organised in collaboration with DIPP, Government of India and CII as Industry Partner.
