Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) at Anand in Gujarat to seek assistance in revamping its dairy sector.

NDDB's official release stated that as per the MoU, it will conduct a state-wide survey on milk production and consumption to find out areas which would need intervention. Based the survey results, NDDB will draft a five-year plan on dairy development and offer technical help for setting up a milk procurement system.

The Board will also offer technical support for setting up of dairy infrastructure, and cattle feed and mineral mixture plant, along with providing training and capacity building of dairy technicians and farmers.

At the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017, Arunachal Pradesh government has inked another MoU with Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).

In order to promote economic collaboration between the two states, the MoU will make easier for GIDC to enable to get permissions, approvals and clearances for Arunachal Pradesh Industries Department from the Gujarat government, as per prevailing policies of the government.

The MoU was signed by Chief Secretary Shakuntala D Gamlin on behalf of the state government and Chairman Dilip Rath on behalf of NDDB, in presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
