Telangana State IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan announces Inspiring Indian Innovation awards 2015 to encourage young innovators

Event Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan announcing details of Inspiring Indian Innovation Awards 2015 in Hyderabad on Thursday.

  In a bid to encourage innovations in the technology space and young entrepreneurs, the Telangana state government has developed a technology incubation centre, T-Hub at Hyderabad. Spread over an area of 60,000 sqft, the center will be inaugurated by Ratan Tata on September 7. The T-Hub can accommodate around 800 start-ups and it is one of the efforts of the state government in preparation for the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT).  Notably, the Telangana government in January had announced that the State will host the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in 2018. In the backdrop of announcing various initiatives to encourage young entrepreneurs during India Gadget Expo, Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary (IT), Telangana Government Thursday said, “The four-day event will showcase some of the best of products and innovations from the world of IT and gadget space. Meanwhile, one of the major highlights of the expo is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and technology.” The second edition of India Gadget Expo will be held in Hyderabad starting from September 18th to 21st. Giving details of the event, Ranjan said that for long countries like the US, UK, Israel and Singapore have been spearheading innovations in the technology space. Events like Gadget Expo will showcase innovations from India. He said that Telangana state government is taking various initiatives to promote young entrepreneurs. In this regard, “To encourage innovation, creativity and to give boost to the start-up ecosystem, India Gadget Expo 2015 will recognise the innovators through their ‘Inspiring Innovation Awards’. Awards will be given in various categories like Best Innovation Award; Best start-up (early stage); Best start-up (growth stage) and Best Social impact product award. Moreover, there will be an award segment called ‘Best student IoT project award’ for students also.” There will be cash prizes for top 3 finalists in each of these categories, which will help start-ups to fund their projects. Entries to the Innovation Awards can be made on indiagadgetexpo.com and the last date for registration is August 31st, Ranjan added. Around 300 exhibitors from 12 countries are expected to take part during the four-day exhibition. It will also showcase around 1,000 devices, including product launches.
