Twenty-five states yet to meet Food Security Act requirements

 The Dollar Business Bureau The Government of India is currently examining the recommendations made by the Committee on Food Corporation of India, with regard to the distribution of food grains under Public Distribution System. This was informed by Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, GoI, to the Rajya Sabha on Friday. As per the recommendations by the Shanta Kumar Committee, the government is expected to defer the implementation of the National Food Secutiry Act (NFSA) in the States those have not completed the preparatory methods that are required for the implementation of the Act. India for agri-cooperation with Turkey and United States

The Dollar Business Bureau Agriculture Ministers of India and Turkey, on Thursday, discussed bilateral cooperation and shared mutual interests for furthering agriculture cooperation between the countries. The Indian Agriculture Minister, Radha Mohan Singh, met his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Mehdi Eker for a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 Agriculture Ministers' meeting at Istanbul. India, Bangladesh agree to promote seeds exchange

The Dollar Business Bureau India and Bangladesh entered into an agreement to initiate the cross-border trade in High-Yielding Varieties (HYV) of rice seeds. A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the Seed associations of the two countries, in New Delhi. While a protocol on the HYV of rice seeds has been signed already between the two countries, also involving Nepal, the latest MoU creates a way for formalization of the same between India and Bangladesh.
