Air India to get its 23rd Boeing 787 in Jan 2017

The Dollar Business Bureau Air India will conclude the procurement of 27 Boeing 787 aircraft before April 2017, and in early January, it will take delivery of the 23rd Boeing Dreamliner. “We will be taking delivery of 23rd B-787 Dreamliner on January 9 and hope to have the last batch of four more Dreamliners by the end of this fiscal year. AI to launch AHD-LHR-EWR flight, expand aircraft fleet

PTI With an aim to connect more global destinations, leading state-run airline Air India will launch Ahmedabad-London-Newark flight from August 15 and Delhi-Madrid in December, and also plans to expand its fleet size in next four years, a top official said today. AI to buy more wide-body planes to expand global network

 Source: PTI Air India is mulling expanding its Boeing wide-body aircraft feet to implement its plans of adding a host of new destinations in its overseas network in a couple of years. The airline is expected to draw up a firm plan in this regard early next fiscal, highly-placed airline sources said. As of now, the government-owned carrier has 40 wide-body or twin-aisle planes in its fleet - 15 Boeing 777s, 21 B-787 (Dreamliners) and jumbo B-747, as against 68 Airbus single - aisle A-320 family aircraft.
