Nissan India domestic sales increase 24.86% in Feb

The Dollar Business Bureau Indian arm of Japanese auto major, Nissan Motor Company, Nissan India reported an increase of 24.86% in its domestic sales at 4,807 units in the month of February compared to 3,850 units in the same month in 2016. Indias auto exports decline over 11% in July

The Dollar Business Bureau India’s overall automobile exports have declined 11.53% at 3.05 lakh units in July 2016 when compared to 3.44 lakh units in the same month last year, as per the data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Wednesday. During the month, the exports of Passenger Vehicles (PVs) and Commercial Vehicles (CVs) have registered a growth of 3.23% and 13.21% respectively. But, the exports of three-wheelers and two-wheelers have witnessed a dip by 21.86% and 14.61% respectively in July 2016 over the same month previous year. Mahindra's auto exports increase 41% in June

The Dollar Business Bureau Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (M&M) has exported 4020 vehicles in June 2016 registering a healthy growth of 41% against the auto exports of 2852 units in the same month last year. The company has seen 25% growth in exports at 10569 units in the first quarter of this financial year when compared to 8449 vehicles exported during the corresponding period previous fiscal. The SUV manufacturer has sold 39011 vehicles in June 2016 against 36134 units in the same month previous year, representing 8% growth in overall sales including exports. Isuzu opens plant in AP, to roll out 50k vehicles

The Dollar Business Bureau   Japanese automaker Isuzu Motors India (IMI) inaugurated a new state-of-the-art plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and expects to reach a production level of 50,000 units per year in the coming three years. The plant was inaugurated by N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The automaker rolled out its D-Max V-Cross - India’s first adventure utility vehicle, from this newly-opened facility. The company earmarked an investment of Rs.3000 crore for the project. Spread over an area of 107 acres, this local manufacturing facility has the production capacity of 50,000 units, which in future can be scaled up to 120,000 units. 'Auto component makers must focus on quality to reduce imports'

The Dollar Business Bureau The automobile industry has asked their component suppliers to focus on developing technology-based high-end products through improvisation and innovation in order to match global quality standards and reduce imports. “What the industry has achieved in last 10 years is commendable. 3x (three times) growth in revenue, 5x (five times) growth in export, but at the same time export is lower than the import.
