APM Terminals launches integrated cold chain facility in South India

The Dollar Business Bureau International container terminal operating company, APM Terminals launches South India’s first cold storage facility integrated with a container freight station, for reliable transport of temperature controlled cargo such food products and medicines. “APM Terminals inaugurated its first state-of-the-art cold storage warehouse in India, which will ensure reliable and stable transport of cargo, including goods such as fish, fruits, medicines, and specialty chemicals, which require strict temperature control throughout the supply chain,” the company said in a statement. APEDA Chairman stresses on upgradation of cold chain logistics to boost exports

The Dollar Business Bureau  APEDA Chairman, D K Singh, while speaking at an Assocham event on cold chain development stressed that ‘Indian traders need to focus on logistics and other issues in their business plans which are relevant to global markets.’  He highlighted the feedback the department received from Korea on the shipment of mangoes, which was not good, as the shipment fell short in terms of quality, packaging and other issues. GI tag for Andhra Pradesh's Banganapalle mango

PTI The succulent Banganapalle mango has got a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, making Andhra Pradesh the proprietor of the variety know for its sweetness. The Registrar of Geographical Indications Registry, Chennai, O P Gupta has accorded the registration following an application from Horticulture Commissioner, Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh government is the registered proprietor of the GI tag for mangoes, often hailed as "the king of fruits."  A GI tag indicates that the product comes from a specific region. Banganapalle mangoes have been grown for over 100 years in the state. It also known as Beneshan, Baneshan, Benishan, Chappatai and Safeda. NCML opens 4,000-MT capacity cold storage unit in Guntur, AP

The Dollar Business Bureau Agri-logistics firm NCML has launched the state-of-the-art Cold Storage facility in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. The 4,000-MT capacity warehouse has been constructed at a cost of Rs.9.45 crore. It can hold approximately one lakh bags, weighing around 40 kg each. The facility was inaugurated by former IAS officer and MD & CEO of the company Sanjay Kaul along with the Deputy CEO Unupom Kausik and others. Sanjay Kaul said that the warehouse facility has been constructed to extend benefit to the chilli farmers of AP.
