Anti-dumping duty to continue on Pentaerythritol imports from China

The Dollar Business Bureau Directorate General of Anti-Dumping & Allied Duties (DGAD), in its sunset review, has recommended the continuation of imposition of anti-dumping duty on pentaerythritol imports from China. “The Authority recommends that the revised and continuation of anti-dumping duties be imposed from the date of issue of notification by the Central Government on all imports of Pentaerythritol falling under chapter 29 of Custom Tariff Classification Act 1975, originating in or exported from China PR,” the DGAD said in a notification (F.No.15/01/2016-DGAD) on Friday. “After examining and analysing the facts and figures concerning injury to the domestic industry, the Authority concludes that despite the presence of anti-dumping duties, imports from China are entering at dumped prices,” the notification added. Decision on anti-dumping duty on auto parts likely to come in September

The Dollar Business Bureau The government is likely to decide on extending anti-dumping duty on Chinese automobile spare parts in September. The Finance Ministry had imposed anti-dumping duties on front axle beam and steering knuckles meant for heavy and medium commercial vehicles exported from China since April 2010. In order to protect domestic manufacturers, anti-dumping duty of $0.35 per kg was imposed on front axle beam and $1.11 per kg on steering knuckles. The restrictions were imposed on the basis of recommendations from the Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD). Anti-dumping duty on Vitamin E imports from China to continue till 2020

A duty of up to $1.77 per kg of import will be levied on all forms of processed Vitamin E shipped in to India from China, the Customs Department said in a notification issued on Wednesday. However, the product in its natural form has been exempted from anti-dumping duty, the notification said. The Finance Ministry had imposed the duty on Chinese Vitamin E in March 2009 for five years and later extended till March 2015.
