Indo-Mauritius CECPA likely to be signed by end of this year: Vice President

PTI The proposed Indo-Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement is expected to be signed later this year as both countries finalised the areas of exchange, Vice-President of Mauritius Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory said today. "Implementation of the CECPA between the two countries is likely to be signed by the end of this year," Vyapoory said at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He said that the two sides had agreed upon the areas where the agreement would be implemented. Tax dept inks seven new transfer pricing pacts

The Dollar Business Bureau    As part of efforts to reduce tax disputes related to international transactions carried out by multinationals, the Indian Tax Department has signed seven new unilateral Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), taking the total number of such pacts to 39. Of the total 39 APAs, 38 are unilateral and one is bilateral. “In the current fiscal year, which is the third year of APA programme, 30 agreements have been signed so far. Before the end of the financial year, more such agreements are expected to be signed,” the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Friday. India to amend double taxation pact with Turkmenistan

The Dollar Business Bureau In order to ensure smooth exchange of information on issues related to tax evasion and black money, India and Turkmenistan will change their double taxation avoidance agreement signed 18 years ago. On Thursday, the Union Cabinet gave its approval “for amending the Double Taxation Avoidance Convention (DTAC) signed between India and Turkmenistan in 1997 for the avoidance of double taxation and for the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital, through a protocol,” a government statement said. The protocol provides for internationally accepted standards for effective exchange of information on tax matters including bank information and information without domestic tax interest.
