Indias Ambassador and Egypts El Moselhy discuss expansion of bilateral trade

S&P Global downgrades Qatars rating to AA-

The Dollar Business Bureau Credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings on Wednesday lowered the credit rating of Qatar by one level to AA- and put the country on a watch on concerns of further downgrading after four Gulf Arab nations severed ties with Doha.   “We believe this will exacerbate Qatar's external vulnerabilities and could put pressure on economic growth and fiscal metrics,” S&P Global said.  Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the UAE on Monday announced that they were severing diplomatic relations and closing air, land and sea links with Doha.   Saudi Arabia and its allies alleged that Qatar is providing support to extremist groups and serving the interests of Riyadh’s regional rival Iran, claims which Doha has strongly declined.   “At this ...

Indias coffee exports grew 11.51% to $92.42 mn in April

The Dollar Business Bureau Coffee exports from India recorded a growth of 11.5% year-on-year in April this fiscal on account of robust demand in the world markets. The country exported $92.42 million worth of coffee during the month. The country’s shipment of coffee stood at $82.88 million in the same month last year, as per the data by Ministry of Commerce. In terms of rupee, the exports witnessed a growth of 8.22% at Rs.596.17 crore in the given month. India primarily exports Arabica and Robusta varieties of the commodity, in addition to instant coffee. The country’s key export destinations are Belgium, Italy, Greece, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Coffee is one of the world’s most extensively traded agriculture commodities. UK joins US airline electronics ban

PTI The UK today imposed a ban on carrying laptops as part of cabin baggage on Britain-bound passenger flights from six Muslim-majority countries, hours after US introduced a similar move citing terrorism concerns. The ban will cover around 14 airlines that operate direct flights from largely Muslim countries Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia. The UK restrictions also apply to tablets, DVD players and phones over certain size. "Direct flights to the UK from these destinations can continue to operate to the UK subject to new measures being in place. Dabur to open new plant, invest Rs.500 cr

The Dollar Business Bureau   In order to expand its manufacturing prowess, Dabur India Ltd is going to invest around Rs 500 crore this year. This comprises an amount of Rs 250 crore to establish a new manufacturing unit in Assam, for healthcare and personal products. The company said that its board on Thursday approved an investment of Rs 250 crore to set up a manufacturing unit at Tezpur, Assam, in order to meet the increasing demand for its products. The unit is expected to start the operations in 2017. The company will also use a portion of the investment to upgrade the capabilities of its facilities abroad.
