Philippines exports to EU increases 56.2%

The Dollar Business Bureau The EU was the largest destination of exports for Philippines in March this year. The latest statistics by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) revealed that exports to European Union member countries, with 16.2% share to total merchandise exports amounted to $901.24 million.  It rose by 56.2% from $577.04 million recorded in March 2016. What was even more interesting was that the export numbers of Philippines to EU for that month overtook those of US which was $809.93 million and Japan $762.43 million. A new ammendment in EU's GSP by the DGFT

The Dollar Business Bureau Earlier in the 2nd week of Dec the Ministry of Commerce had floated a new provision for exporters exporting to the EU called 'self registration'. Under this provision an exporter can self certify the rules of origin of his product under the Registered Export System (REX) which would be in place from Jan 1, 2017. Exporters with a REX number will be able to self certify the Statement on Origin of their goods being exported to EU under the GSP (Generalised System of Preferences) Scheme. Exports body hails extension of import duty benefit scheme in US

Himanshu Vatsa | The Dollar Business Indian exporters on Tuesday cheered the US government’s decision to extend its duty waiver scheme meant for certain category of imports from India and other developed countries. According to the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Generalized System of Preference (GSP) programme has been reauthorised for another two and a half years beginning July 29, 2015.
