Nepali Traders against Indias ICP operations

The Dollar Business Bureau Nepali traders have expressed their concern that India’s plan to start operations at the new Integrated Check Post (ICP) on Nepal-India border may hurt their trade through Raxaul-Birgunj customs point. India has been preparing to begin operations at the Check Post on its side of the Raxaul-Birgunj border in the state of Bihar. However, the infrastructure is yet to be completed on Nepal’s side of the border. Nepal set to import additional power from India

Nepal has signed a power trade agreement with India last year which enables the country to import additional power from the southern neighbour Source: PTI Nepal currently produces around 780 MW of electricity, though the domestic demand stands at 1,300 MW during peak period   Nepal, reeling under acute energy shortage, is set to import an additional 90 MW of electricity from India by January-end after the completion of a key inter-country transmission line.
