DGAD recommends anti-dumping duty on resorcinol imports from China, Japan

The Dollar Business Bureau In order to safeguard the domestic industry against cheap imports, Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties (DGAD) has recommended imposition of anti-dumping duties on the imports of resorcinol from China and Japan for the period of three years. Resorcinol is a phenolic compound that is used in manufacturing of medicines, resins, dyes, plastics and various other organic chemical compounds. “The Authority is of the view that imposition of anti-dumping duty is required to offset dumping and injury. Customs prohibits Red Sanders from being imported

The Dollar Business Bureau Red Sanders wood, an endangered species of flora protected under the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species(CITES) of Flora and Fauna, has been prohibited from being imported by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Earlier this wood was free to be brought into the country, but the government has through a notification specified that it has shifted imports of this wood from free to the prohibited category. Hyderabad RCEP meet provides a push to negotiations: Teaotia

The Dollar Business Bureau Commerce Ministry said on Monday that the recent round of discussions in Hyderabad for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) would provide a push to the negotiations. Around 700 officials representing 16 nations including Australia and China, gathered in the city during July 17-28 to negotiate the mega trade deal RCEP. All India Rice Exporters Association seeks PMs intervention to revoke EU ban on basmati rice

The Dollar Business Bureau  India’s widely appreciated basmati rice may face the closed doors of the EU due to the new regulations that EU has imposed on chemical residues, The All India Rice Exporters Association (AIREA) said on Wednesday. A fungicide named tricyclazole which many farmers use to prevent leaf and neck blast in basmati paddy varieties was banned by EU. For sometime EU had allowed a maximum residue limit (MRL) of 1ppm (parts per million) on the basmati rice that was exported to EU.
