Govt to make 4 mega food parks operational in 3 months

The Dollar Business Bureau The government on Tuesday said that it is working for the development of food processing industry at a rapid pace and around 4 mega food parks will become operational in the coming three months. The industry is keenly interested in food processing sector as the Central government has got 300 proposals for establishing new cold chains, it said. “Just two mega food parks came into operation during 2009 and 2014, while 6 mega food parks became operational during the last three years – from 2014 to 2017. Centre softens norms to boost investment in food processing

 The Dollar Business Bureau In an effort to boost investment in the food processing sector, the government has introduced some changes in its guidelines of the Mega Food Park scheme. The changes in guidelines, approved by the cabinet committee on economic affairs (CCEA), will streamline the setting up of modern food processing plants across the state. These modifications are expected to trigger further investment in the food processing sector and ensure smooth implementation of the Mega Food Parks scheme particularly, the projects that are at initial stages, a government statement said on Thursday. Ministry of Food Processing and Industries announces 17 new Mega Food Parks

The Dollar Business Bureau The Ministry of Food Processing and Industries, announced setting up of 17 new Mega Food Parks (MFPs) acroos the country. The announcement came after earlier projects for setting up of these facilities were withdrawn. Out of these 17 fresh MFPs, seven projects will be approved by State government agencies from six States and the rest are expected to be taken up by private operators.
