Indigenous crude oil production during June'15 dips as compared to June'14

Source: PIB, Government of India Indigenous crude oil production (including condensate) during June, 2015 was 3101.005 TMT which is 2.99% higher than the target for the month and 0.67% lower than the production during corresponding period of last year. Cumulative crude oil production during April-June, 2015 was 9305.507 TMT which is 2.66% higher than target for the period and 0.86% lower than the production during corresponding period of last year. India's iron ore exports slump by 56.7% in March 2015

The Dollar Business Bureau India’s iron ore exports fell in March to 804,233 tonnes, down by 56.7% when compared with the exports during the same month in 2014. According to Ministry of Commerce, the country had exported 857 million tonnes of iron ore during March last year while, during this year, India exported 804,233 tonnes of iron ore worth $27.22 million. Moreover, the export prices have dipped by 25.8% over the year. The iron ore export prices averaged at $71.4 per tonne in March 2015 as against $96.20 per tonne in March 2014. Renewal of long-term agreements for supply of iron ore to Japan, South Korea okayed

Source: PIB, Government of India The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval to renew Long Term Agreement with Japanese and South Korean Steel Mills for supply of high grade Indian iron ore, during the three year period from April, 2015 to March, 2018. The quantities covered under the agreement will be in the range of 3.8 million tonnes to 5.5 million tonnes per year, and will be supplied primarily from the mines of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC). Rise in duty on steel product imports inadequate: Indian Steel Association
