CIL aims to produce 1bn tonne of coal: Goyal

The Dollar Business Bureau Coal India Ltd has set a target to produce one billion tonnes of coal, said Union Minister of State, independent charge for Coal and Power, Piyush Goyal, on Wednesday. The target before the Ministry of Coal and CIL to attain one billion of output is very much challenging, he said. Coal India-NTPC JV to revive fertiliser plants

The Dollar Business Bureau Coal India Limited announced that it has entered into an agreement with state-run power company NTPC Ltd. for revival of its two fertilizer plants. According to the deal, the 50-50 joint venture between Coal India and NTPC will establish and operate new fertiliser (ammonia urea) complex at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and Sindri in Jharkhand units of the Fertiliser Corporation of India Limited (FCIL). The joint venture will also market FCIL’s products. EU to help India achieve energy efficiency in agri

India ready to import gas for electricity: Goyal

The Dollar Business Bureau India is willing to import a minimum of 70-80 mmscm (million metric standard cubic metres) of natural gas from global exporters for its gas-based power plants, if the country is able to get long-term gas at ‘affordable’ rates, said Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal and Renewable Energy. “The Government of India is ready to procure at least 70 to 80 mmscmd of natural gas from worldwide suppliers if they are willing to supply long-term at affordable rates. GoI for private sector participation in power transmission schemes

The Dollar Business Bureau The Ministry of Power, Government of India, on Wednesday, informed about the Government of India’s move to encourage the private sector participation in boosting the power sector of the country. With a view to encourage and allow participation of private sector in building the power transmission capacity in India, the Government of India notified 14 power transmission schemes worth Rs 33,900 crore during 2014-15 period, said the Ministry of Power, in its latest release. Government rides high on road and highway projects
