Focus on improving railways infra for seamless traffic movement: Prabhu

Indian Railways bags Rs.680 cr export order from Sri Lanka

The Dollar Business Bureau  Indian Railways will export to Sri Lanka train sets and modern locomotives worth around Rs.680 crore, in the largest shipment order for the Railways. Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), the export arm of Railways, has got its biggest order from the Sri Lankan Railways for exporting 6 diesel multiple units (DMU) train sets and 10 broad gauge diesel locomotives. The separate locomotive is not required in DMU train sets as the engines are integrated into one or more than one of its coaches. Nirmala Sitharaman assures exporters of reduced logistics costs

The Dollar Business Bureau The finance and railways ministries are working on ways to cut logistics costs which make exports uncompetitive, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said today. The Minister said that she has discussed the increasing logistics costs with the Finance Minister. "I have very clearly stated that logistics costs are increasing and therefore, we are becoming less competitive... We have definitely asked different authorities at different levels. Rlwys to spend entire outlay of 1.21 lakh cr this year: Sinha

The Dollar Business Bureau  Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha said on Friday that Indian Railways will spend the entire allocated amount of Rs.1.21 lakh crore for this financial year. “This year, Rs.1.21 lakh crore has been earmarked and I believe this year 100 percent of it will be spent. Railways starts RoRo svc in Tripura to carry petro products

PTI After successfully launching the Roll on Roll off service over the Ganga river, railways has started it in Tripura to transport petroleum products in the state.In order to help Tripura, reeling under a fuel crisis owing to deplorable condition of the road connecting the land-locked state with rest of the country, railways undertook RoRo service of POL (petroleum, oil and lubricants) to carry loaded trucks on flat-wagon goods train to the state.The RoRo service was launched in May to carry loaded trucks on goods train in a bid to attract more loadings and reduce carbon emission, said a senior Railway Ministry official.It was first launched across the Digha rail bridge between Bihta and Turki stations in Bihar as loaded trucks were ...
