Goa procures additional beef from Karnataka: Parrikar

The Dollar Business Bureau Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Tuesday that the state-run slaughterhouses produces about 2,000 kg of beef a day and the additional demand for beef in the state is met by importing it from neighbouring state like Karnataka. India attracted $55 billion in FDI in two years: EAM

The Dollar Business Bureau External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday said India has attracted $55 billion as foreign direct investment (FDI) in the last two years. She underscored that an enhanced economic engagement with economies across the world has been the focus of the government’s foreign policy. Addressing an hour-long annual press conference, Swaraj said India had improved its ties with countries in the African continent, the Gulf region, Pacific Island and across the world; touching a total of 140 countries last year. The EAM said India will further reach out to 65 countries, with which India had had not organised any ministerial visits and said she will send emissaries to those countries as well. Demand slump in neighbouring countries hits Indias engineering exports

The Dollar Business Bureau India’s engineering exports has been witnessing a steep fall in the last couple of months mainly due to the demand slowdown in the neighbouring countries. As per the latest data released by the government on Thursday, India’s exports of engineering products registered a negative growth of 22.81% in September this year compared to the figure of the same month a year ago. However, the rate of decline was less than that of August when it went down by 29.5% year-on-year.
