43.67 lakh taxpayers file initial GSTR-3B returns for Oct

The Dollar Business Bureau There is a considerable improvement in the number of businesses filing initial GSTR-3B returns, with around 43.67 lakh taxpayers have filed their returns for the month of October within due date, GST Network said on Tuesday. This is highest return filing in a month within the due date, it added. The last date of filing GSTR-3B returns for the month of October was November 20. GSTR-3B is the initial sales return filed by businesses in the GST regime. Foreign firms evince interest to set up business units in Punjab

Mango exports to be down this year as production drop by 70% in UP

The Dollar Business Bureau Due to adverse weather conditions, the production of mangoes declined around 70% and mango cultivators have suffered huge losses in Uttar Pradesh this year. Therefore, the exports of ‘king of fruits’ would likely to go down from the state. “This year mango production will be between 10 lakh tonnes to 15 lakh tonnes only. There is 70% drop in mango production as compared to previous year,” Insram Ali, President of All India Mango Growers Association (AIMGA) told PTI. Indias first 2nd gen ethanol bio-refinery to be set up in Bathinda

Maize productivity up 4.8 times: Radha Mohan Singh

The Dollar Business Bureau Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh said maize productivity in India has increased 4.8 times, maize farming improved 2.9 times and its yield enhanced 14 times since 1950 due to the efforts of farmers, scientists and also the policy makers. The Agriculture Minister was speaking at the India Maize Summit, organised by by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) in New Delhi on Thursday.
