The Dollar Business Bureau "We foresee a sharp recovery in demand this fiscal after demonetisation dealt a major blow, leading to a 1.2% de-growth last fiscal,” rating agency CRISIL said on Monday. The cement sector may see incremental demand outpace the incremental supply in the coming three fiscals due to the government’s spending on infrastructure, the rating agency said. According to the agency, incremental demand could be doubling to 48 million tonne when compared to the past three fiscals, while incremental supply is seen moderating to a fifth to 31 MT from 39 MT. The Dollar Business Bureau  L&T Hydrocarbon, fully owned subsidiary of Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has won orders worth Rs.4,000 crore in the foreign market. The construction arm of L&T has recently won Rs.1,725 crore worth of orders across two business divisions. “L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has won orders totalling close to Rs.4,000 crore in the international market,” L&T said in a filing with BSE.    In transportation infrastructure division, the company had won Rs.725 crore worth of contracts. “A procurement, engineering, and construction contract has been bagged from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for 4-laning of the section Wadpale to Bhogaon Khurd of National Highway 17 in the state of Maharashtra,” the ...

The Dollar Business Bureau The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on Monday announced the names of the designated ports for import of un-shredded metallic scrap and extended their validity.  According to the new announcement, imports of scrap would only be carried through Chennai, Cochin, Ennore, JNPT, Kandla, Mormugao, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Paradip, Tuticorin, Vishakhapatnam, Pipava, Mundra and Kolkata, and no exceptions will be given to EOUs and SEZs.  Earlier, imports of scrap were shipped through 26 designated ports.  The existing designated seaports - Chennai, Cochin, Ennore, JNPT, Kandla, Mormugao, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Paradip, Tuticorin, Vishakhapatnam, Pipava, Mundra and Kolkata - will be allowed to import un-shredded scrap till March 31, 2018.
