Indias electric cars plans to boost SoftBank solar goals

The Dollar Business Bureau Japanese telecom giant SoftBank Group is in discussions with the Government of India for facilitating the use of solar energy for charging electric vehicles in India, a senior executive at the company’s local unit told a leading news agency.  The Indian government is planning to electrify all the vehicles in the coming 15 years, a step that can boost solar ambitions of SoftBank in India if the country adopts renewable energy for charging vehicles.  SoftBank has said that it will invest around $20 billion along with Bharti Enterprises and Foxconn Technology in solar projects in the country. India adds record capacity of 11 GW in renewable energy in FY 17

The Dollar Business Bureau According to a report published by ICRA, India added 11 GW to its renewable energy capacity in 2016-17, as against 7.1 GW in the previous fiscal, reporting a 60% increase in incremental capacity. Wind and solar power emerged as the popular forms of clean energy taking 5.4 GW and 5.5 GW share, respectively. Record low tariffs and declining capital costs coupled with swift and transparent auctions and allotments have helped achieve a high capacity addition during the last fiscal. MP govt inks Indias lowest-tariff solar power park

DGAD recommends anti-dumping duty on clear float glass from Iran

The Dollar Business Bureau  In order to safeguard the domestic industry from cheap imports, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGAD) has recommended imposition of anti-dumping duty on the imports of clear float glass, which is used in construction, refrigeration, mirror and solar energy industries etc, from Iran. “After examining the submissions made by the interested parties and issues raised therein; and considering the facts available on record, the Authority concludes that the product under consideration has been exported to India from Iran below their normal values and the domestic industry has suffered material injury. FDI inflows worth $1.77 bn in non-conventional energy sector from Apr 2014 to Sept 2016

PTI Minister of Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman said in a statement that total FDI equity inflows in the non-conventional energy sector from April 2014 to September 2016 was $1.77 billion.
