India gears up to boost trade ties with African countries

According to the Foreign Ministry officials, more than 400 business delegations from 54 African countries will explore ways to boost trade ties with Indian industries during the four-day summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi October 26-29. UK telecom service provider to invest $300 million in India

Source: PTI New Call Telecom Limited, one of the fastest growing residential telecom service providers in the UK, will invest $300 million (about Rs.2,000 crore) in India to increase its presence in the country. “New Call Telecom has announced investments worth $300 million in the next 12-18 months in India,” its CEO Nigel Eastwood told reporters in Jammu on Friday. 'India has potential of defence exports worth $1 billion'

The Dollar Business Business India has the potential to increase its defence exports by 10 times in the next two-three years, according to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. “There is a potential of $1 billion worth of exports of technology products developed by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) in two-three years,” Parrikar said at a function in New Delhi on Wednesday. At present, the country’s annual defence export is estimated to be at the level of $100 million. According to the annual report of the Ministry of Defence, the country’s defence export was worth Rs.686 crore ($103.78 million) in 2013-14, which was up from Rs.460.97 crore in 2012-13.
