AP to generate 2 lakh jobs in electronics and IT in 2 yrs

The Dollar Business Bureau  Andhra Pradesh will create about two lakh jobs in the field of electronics manufacturing and information technology (IT) sector in the coming two years, said the state’s IT minister Nara Lokesh. “In order to fulfil the target, the focus will be on manufacturing medical devices, in addition to the manufacturing of consumer durables and mobile phones” Lokesh, who is the son of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and holds the portfolio of Panchayati Raj said. Apples iPhone SE local production to start this month

The Dollar Business Bureau US-based technology giant Apple Inc on Wednesday said it is starting initial production of iPhone SE in a ‘small number’ in Bengaluru and begin the shipping of its ‘Made in India’ phone to domestic consumers this month. “We are beginning initial production of a small number of iPhone SE in Bengaluru. iPhone SE is the most popular and  powerful phone with a four-inch display in the world and well begin shipping to domestic customers this month,” the company said. Aadhaar-enabled payment coming soon

The Dollar Business Bureau The government has unveiled a path-breaking payment method, routed in the revolutionary Aadhaar Card, a unique identification mechanism that uses biometrics. Soon, the Indian citizen will walk into shops and settle his bills using his Aadhaar number, making wallets or mobile phones redundant for the purpose of making payments.  "We are going to start Aadhaar Pay. People can visit any merchant, share their Aadhaar number and verify themselves using biometrics to pay and receive money," Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.  Not specifying a date for its launch, the Minister said that Aadhaar Pay will soon be implemented. Micromax plans for expansion, to invest Rs. 2000 cr

The Dollar Business Bureau Micromax, a leading mobile handset manufacturer of India, said that it plans to invest Rs.2,000 crore over the next 5-6 years, to expand its business.  The handset manufacturer set up a new manufacturing unit in Hyderabad with an initial investment of Rs.100 crore. This is the second plant of the Bhagwati Products Ltd, the manufacturing subsidiary of the company.
