Indias steel production grew 3.5% to 8.36 MT in July

The Dollar Business Bureau The crude steel production in India increased by 3.5% to 8.36 million tonnes in July this year, compared to the 8.08 million tonnes output in the same month last year, according to the latest data by international trade body World Steel Association. Domestic output during the period January-July 2017 grew 5.4% to 58.01 million tonnes compared to 55.07 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year, the data showed. India's crude steel output grew by 10.7% during Jan-Mar 2017

The Dollar Business Bureau The World Steel Association (WSA) released a report with statistics of crude steel production across the globe. India is reported to have grown its crude steel production by 10.7%, to 25.76 million tonnes (mt) in the first quarter of 2017 from 23.26 mt in the same period during 2016. Specifically for the month of March, India's crude steel production of 9 mt showed a 8.2% year on year growth from 8.31 mt of production in March 2016. The month-on-month growth is pegged at 11.11%, with respect to February 2017 output of 8.1 mt. India outshined the top two economies of Asia, China and Japan, in terms of growth in crude steel output for this quarter. Indias steel output rises 6% in first nine months of this year

India outpaces world in steel production during Jan-April 2015

 The Dollar Business Bureau India's steel production grew by an impressive 6.7% in the first four months of 2015, the highest among major global producers, the World Steel Association (WSA) has said. According to WSA, India, now the world’s third largest producer, produced 29.97 Million tonne (Mt) steel during the January-April period of the current year compared to 28.09 Mt in the same period a year ago, outpacing the world’s average growth of 1.7%.
