Tata Motors exports grow 11% at 5603 units in June

Cumulative sales (including exports) rose 6% with 123,729 units sold in the fiscal.

The exports of Tata Motors have increased 11% with 5,603 vehicles shipped in the month of June 2016 when compared to 5,046 vehicles sold in the same month last year. The cumulative exports were marginally higher by 2% at 13,816 units sold in the fiscal, over 13,510 vehicles sold in the previous fiscal, the company said in a statement.

Tata Motors has registered 14% and 22% growth in the company’s Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) and passenger car segments respectively in June 2016. The overall sales including exports of passenger and commercial vehicles have surged up 8% with 44,276 vehicles sold in July 2016, against 40,869 sales in the same month last year. The cumulative sales (including exports) were higher 6% with 123,729 units for the fiscal, when compared to 116,504 vehicles sold in the last year.

The domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles for June 2016 have also grown 8% with the sales figures at 38,673 units in June 2015. The passenger vehicle segment in the domestic market has recorded 22% growth with a sale of 12,509 units year-on-year, when compared to 10,281 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago.

The passenger car segment has seen 37% rise at 11,705 cars sold in June this year, when compared to 8,516 cars in June 2015. The maximum growth was witnessed in the sales of the company’s hatchback sales at 100% growth with 7,126 units sold last month. This is mainly due to the strong demand for the new model Tiago which was launched recently.

Among the commercial vehicles, sales of medium and heavy commercial (M&HCV) vehicle segment increased 11% at 10,147 units in June 2016. The overall commercial vehicles sales grew only 2% in the domestic market at 26,164 vehicles sold last month this year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles were 10% higher in the domestic market for the fiscal at 78,292 units. Cumulative LCV sales increased 11% at 43,191 units, while M&HCV sales rose 8% at 35,101 units in the previous month this year.
