UK’s Govt Digital Service CTO holds talks with India’s DARPG

DARPG has so far entered into bilateral MoU with United Kingdom, France, Malaysia, Singapore and trilateral Agreement with Brazil and South Africa.

A 4-member delegation from the Govt. of UK consisting of senior officials from UK’s Government Digital Service (GDS), led by Mr. Andy Beale, Chief Technology Officer, held a meeting with the Indian delegation led by Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Shri C. Viswanath, on 26th September. The delegation is presently on an official visit to India during September 26-28, 2016 and is meeting the Indian delegation under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of UK on ‘Cooperation in Public Administration and Governance Reforms’.

During the meeting, both sides discussed and shared best practices in e-governance, citizen-centric online delivery of services, good governance practices in public administration, user led service design and Government Process Re-engineering. UK delegation made a presentation on “User-centricity Digital outreach Analytics”.

Other members of the UK delegation included Mr. Warren Smith, Digital Marketplace Director, Mr. James Stewart, Director of Technical Architecture and Ms. Anisha Ahuja, Chief of Staff, CTO. The delegation will also visit Bangalore for regional level exposure of e-Governance in India and will have in-depth discussion with officers of NIC’s technical team associated across various Ministries / Departments of Govt. of India.

As part of its efforts in seeking international collaboration for initiatives in Good Governance and Administrative reforms, DARPG has so far entered into bilateral MoU with United Kingdom, France, Malaysia, Singapore and trilateral Agreement with Brazil and South Africa.

DARPG, being the nodal department of Govt. of India for Administrative Reforms, is committed to work towards the vision of bringing out Administrative Reforms and excellence in Public Administrative Systems.
